Dealing with this and with the excessive amount in the atmosphere is called carbon management. It describes the entire cycle of capture, transport, further use (CCU – Carbon Capture and Utilization), and permanent storage of carbon dioxide (CCS – Carbon Capture and Storage).

Carbon management will play a decisive role in global efforts to decarbonize and limit negative climate effects.
